Learning Outcomes

SES innovation lies in the synthesis of technological, techno-economic and environmental parameters and success determinants of future sustainable energy projects. For this purpose, the thematic fields of the SES programme extends are:
1. Technologies of Renewable Energy Sources
2. Design of Sustainable Energy Systems
3. Economy and Entrepreneurship in the field of Sustainable Energy

Upon completion, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of energy systems in the context of sustainability (environmental, social, technological) and will be familiarized with the methods and tools for future business decisions.

In more detail at the end of the programme students will be able to:

  • critically analyse disparate sources of information about sustainable energy systems
  • assess the complex and multi-attribute energy needs of the different societal groups
  • critically evaluate the research ethics and rules in the field of sustainable energy engineering
  • analyse problems, synthesizing solutions and new insights covering the entire space of sustainable energy systems
  • apply the sustainable energy systems design principles to recommend viable and customized per end –user technological solutions

and also to:

  • work effectively within a team, with responsibility, flexibility, and reliability,
  • articulate, thoughts, results, and ideas via written and verbal communication
  • collaborate effectively as part of professional teams in the sustainable energy sector/ industry, filling leadership positions
  • demonstrate critical reflection on their background knowledge by pursuing a doctoral degree in the field of sustainable energy systems
  • contribute to the field by designing and composing polices for the acceleration of deployment of sustainable technologies.
