Optimisation of Energy Systems

The objective of the module is to familiarise the students with the rationale, the basic principles, the methods and tools of the energy systems optimization. The module equips the students with the perspective of the optimisation in almost all the important energy problems such as their siting, capacity planning, design and operation. In parallel, the students are familiarised with the knowledge and experience for the integrated solution of energy problems and the approach that all the components of a system serve the goal of optimal operation of the entire system that they belong to. By the end of the module the students will recognise the optimisation problems, the suitability of methods and software tools for the solution of the energy optimisation problems.
