Upon completion students will be able to develop comprehensive knowledge and understanding concerning:

• solar, biomass and geothermal energy markets analysis and applications

• contemporary solar, biomass and geothermal technologies, design, performance analysis maintenance and troubleshooting

• environmental and financial performance of solar energy installations

• operation of special technological applications like Concentrating Solar Power (CSP), Photovoltaic/Thermal Solar applications as well as Passive Solar Architecture and building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV)

• the fundamentals of Heat Transfer

• the environmental impacts in energy extraction and energy utilization of geothermal energy
