Sustainable Energy Economics

This module aims to provide a broader understanding of the economics of sustainable energy. It covers various economic theories and concepts related to sustainable energy production and consumption, demand and supply, energy pricing, sustainability and policies. Upon completion students will be familiarised with the:

  • economic principles and related calculation tools/ formulas i.e. net present value, annual cash flow, rate of return, payback period etc

  • evaluation of cost effectiveness of renewable energy projects

  • energy pricing and energy modelling concepts.
